Baby Sable

Mom has found pics of us on her computer at work. In order to clear them off of this computer she will helping us share them here. Some of them have probably been posted here in the past, but we don't think you will mind seeing them again.

This baby Sable in October 2001. He is approximately 9 weeks old in these pictures. Mom doesn't have a whole of kitten pictures of Sable and that makes her sad. Me (Clarissa) and Sable are the only two kitties who came to our forever home as little kittens.

This is the little brat bothering me! Sable is a bit bigger in this picture. I hissed at him when he first moved in and didn't want anything to do with him. But eventually I warmed up to him and taught him a lot the cat things he needed to know.
And this is how Sable looks today. He sure turned into a handsome mancat, didn't he? He is a big house panther but still a sweet boy. His favorite place to sleep is on mom's left thigh when she is sitting in the recliner.

Sable will be 12 years old this fall. Mom says that is hard to believe!!!

Tiramisu

Tiramisu is actually the name of a dessert, and this Tiramisu looks absolutely delicious.

This beautiful kitty was trapped last week. She was thought to be feral, but the person who trapped said she is a love bug. She had Tiramisu spayed and is keeping her while she heals up from surgery. Unfortunately she will not be able to keep Tiramisu. She will be going to her hometown's humane society's adoption site on weekends. We don't think this striking girl will have much trouble finding a forever home.
Tiramisu's foster mom thinks she is a Chinchilla-Himalayan mix. Apparently the swirl pattern comes from the Chinchilla breed. She has the beautiful blue eyes from the Himalayan (or perhaps Siamese?).

Bombs Away!!!!

Do you remember how dear Admiral Hestorb used to leave "bombit traps" for her mom to find? Well friends, we have learned her lesson well! We started by leaving the traps at normal places, like the doorway, the middle of the kitchen floor, or the hallway. Any place where our unsuspecting mom might have a chance to step in one in the dark, in the night, while she was wearing socks, or best of all, barefooted!!! She always squeals with delight when that happens.

We have upped our game when it comes to the location of placing bombit traps now. The floors and walking paths through the house are much to easy and mom has learned to expect that. Our new place to leave them is now on mom's bed!!! Last night's trap was the best one to date!!! You see, we started this by leaving them on the foot of the bed, on her blanket, of course. Occasionally we might leave a trap high up on the bed, but always on the blanket.

Yesterday mom didn't do a great job of making her bed. Memphis Meezer had gotten up there and made his daily mancave. He gets cold so he will burrow under the blanket while mom is at work. Anymew, mom got in bed last night and pulled her sheet and blanket up to her neck. She was having a hard time getting comfortable and she reached down and found the bombit trap we had set for her. It was cold, wet, kibble! MOL!!!!

Mom had to turn the light on, get out of bed, get some paper towels and clean up the mess. Then she had to take that blanket off of the bed and put a clean one on the bed. She told us how much she loved us the whole time this was going on...NOT. Actually she said a couple of not-safe-for-kitten-ears words and then said, "Really, cats? All of the floors around here and you have to yak on my bed?"  We told her it could be worse. We could of yakked on her pillow!

So remember kitties! If you want to make your humans really happy, hide a bombit trap in their blanket!!!

Man-Kitten Monday

These two cuties just got there Forever Homes on Friday with a friend of mom's who lives out-of-state. Their names are Bendlet and Bowtie. As you can see from the first two pictures, both babies where born with twisted front legs.

This is Bendlet.

This is Bowtie.

Their new meowmie has dealt with this "problem" before. Her dear Bendy kitty crossed the Bridge, was also born with twisted front legs. Bendy wore splints on his front legs and it helped straighten them enough for him to get around without any problems. The kittens now have splints on their little front legs.

Their meowmie also took in two senior kitties over the weekend. Montana is 19 years old and was left at a shelter. Montana will live out the rest of her days here. She brought a friend with her, mancat Logan, who is 12.

We are so happy these kitties have found a forever home with our mom's friend.

Friends-Day Friday: Gretel

Today we want to introduce you to are cute tabby friend named Gretel. We met her on the Meowmail Forum. Her angel sisters, Holly and Willow and Clara used to post there. Gretel is an only cat and she lives in the great state of Maryland with her human mom and human grandma. We think she is the cat's meow!

We told you Gretel was cute!

We don't know what Gretel is looking at, but it sure has her attention!

We hope everyone has a great weekend!
