Mancat Monday: Wick in North Carolina

This is our friend, Wick. Wick lives with our Aunt Torchy in North Carolina. He is five years old. We may have mentioned that Wick has two nicknames. His first nickname is "Chicken of the Sea" because he is a bit skittish. His second nickname is "Lunchbox" because he is a big kitty!

We hope he was enjoying his nap. It doesn't look like the flashy box bothered him at all!

Mom is home from her trip!!!

Mom pulled into our driveway at 7:30pm on the nose yesterday. She was absolutely worn out from her long drive home. Mom told us that she drove in rain all the way to Durham, NC last Wednesday. Then she drove all the way home yesterday in scattered showers. But while she was there she had a nice time visiting her our Aunt Torchy and Aunt Jennifer. Mom said they aren't her real sisters, but they are the sisters of her heart.

Mom got to meet Aunt Torchy's new kitty, Gracie. We introduced Gracie here in January (we think). She is a beautiful DSH black kitty. Mom sais Gracie's fur is very shiny, just like patent leather! And Gracie has really large yellow eyes. She is very sweet and let mom hold her. Gracie sneezes a lot due to a chronic respiratory problem. But her eyes are clear and bright, and she doesn't seem to let it bother her. Aunt Torchy said she wished that kitties like Gracie could use a Neti Pot!

Aunt Torchy has another big boy kitty named Wick. He is a DLH tabby and is very handsome. His nickname is "Chicken of the Sea" because he is a bit skittish. He didn't like Aunt Jennifer's inflatable mattress at all!

We are glad to have mom home even though our uncle took very good care of us. We missed snuggling with mom in bed at night. And mom said she missed snuggling with us too!

Mom is going out of town....

Mom is going out of town for a week. She leaves tomorrow and will be back next Tuesday. We will miss everyone but don't forget about us! We will return next week. In the meantime, we will spend the week with our Uncle (mom's brother).

Fiona seems to have fully recovered. She's been putting her crazy ears on and zooming around the house. Her appetite is good. And she even puts the bitey on mom now! All a good sign.

Mom's ankle is fine now, too. It was sore for a couple of days after she turned it, but it has stopped bothering her!

She and our Tia Jen (mom's best from high school) are going to North Carolina to visit another friend. It's been a long time since they've taken a trip together so mom is hoping it will be fun.

Mancat Monday: Spunky

Mom woke me up taking pictures with the flashy box. Can't a cat get any undisturbed sleep around this joint?

Are we trying to kill mom? We aren't telling....

Mom took a quiz: Is Your Cat Plotting to Kill You?

Here is her result:

Not so Wordless Wednesday

Mom made this over at the I Can Has Cheeseburger site:

Also, our uncle called mom at work this morning. He said Fiona yakked up that foamy white mucus/phlegm stuff again. This is how both bouts off illness started with her. Mom called the vet and he suggested that she try giving Fi 1/4 of a Pepcid AC tablet once daily. If that doesn't work, then we will go from there.

None of this is making any sense to mom. Is it possible for a kitty to have GERD?

Good Mews About Fiona/Bad Mews About Mom

The good news is about me! I had my ultrasound and an kitteh EKG this morning. I have a tiny tiny tiny hole in one of my heart valves, but mom already knew that I have a slight heart murmur. Dr. Isherwood said all of my internal organs looked just fine. He thinks I just didn't get entirely over that respiratory infection that I had in January. I'm off all of the meds now, so it's just a watch and see thing now. Thank you all for your purrs.

The bad news is about mom. She is a klutz! Yes she is. She fell asleep in the waiting room with her right leg tucked beneath her. So her leg went numb. She was walking back to the exam room and her right ankle just turned underneath. She thinks she may have a slight sprain now. Mom said it doesn't hurt to walk on it, but it hurts a little if she tries to rotate it. Stupid mom.

Fiona
