Here's what we don't understand: Why does our mom what to pick us up and snorggle us. She's always wanting to kiss on of us on top of our furry heads or on the tips of our noses! We can all live with our silly nicknames. And some of us really love to get our brushies and ear skritches. A few even enjoy the occasional belly rub. But the snorggling has really got to stop!

Pet Food Recall...Tragic Results
We are still in shock over the petfood recall by MenuFoods. It effected something like 95 products/brands - all canned food and pouches of moist food. Fortunately, it didn't effect our fur family. We all eat dry food and get moist food as an occasional treat. Mom had about a half case of Iams canned food, but it was safe. We had been eating it long before the recall happened (we've had the canned food well over a year). However, mom is putting it out in the trash tonight. Even though she knows it is safe she said she feels nervous about giving it to us.
Mom read 3 short stories of pets who lost there lives due to the tainted food (it had some type of rat poison in it that was most likely on the imported wheat gluttin). She had to stop reading because she knew it would make her cry. What hurt the most was the guilt the purrents had for feeding the bad food to their cats and dogs. Of course they didn't know the food was bad! And they never meant to harm their furbabies. It makes us all furry sad. Our purrayers are with them.

Just another Memphis Monday....
I've been in my furever home for about a month now. I love it soooo much. I have good food, a soft bed, and I love to wrestle with my bigger brother, Bandit. It's getting a little too warm to get under the blankets in mom's bed now, but if I'm feeling cold I like to cover myself up. I had myself totaly buried one. Mom didn't even know I was in her bed until Bandit jumped up there. He landed on me and I had to pop my head out to see who was practically laying on me.
Chita and Nala (fur friends from a message board) call me "Tennessee Tuxedo." Sometimes I'm known as "Elvis" too. I guess that just comes with having the name "Memphis." Maybe they don't realize that Memphis was a great city in Egypt.
Here's a couple of pictures of me in mom's bed:
I think I'm very handsome. Don't you?
Headbonks!

Spring is Here!!!!
Spring has arrived and mom opened up some of the windows last night. We cats kept jockeying around for the best positions so we could breath in the fresh air. I (Clarissa) finally got in the recliner with mom and took a nap while she did some knitting. I love to nap near her, but a lot of times that little brat, Fiona, will steal my nappy spot! And Memphis is almost glued to mom's lap. He loves to snuggle with her.
Mom has to keep an eye on Daisy. She likes to bolt out the front door and hide in the bushes in front of the house. Daisy was an outdoor kitty before she came to live with us. She's lived in a real house now for almost two full year but she still thinks she should go outside. Mom says that isn't going to happen and she just needs to get use to being an indoor kitty now.

It's Raining....
It's raining today and the temperature is dropping again. We cats are going to find some cozy spots and probably sleep all day. I feel a nap coming on right now....

The Catnip Song
Do...the stuff to buy my nip
Ray...the guy who sells my nip
Me...the one loves my nip
Fa...a long way to get nip!
So...I'll have some more catnip...
La...I'll have some more catnip...
Tee...no thanks, I'll have more nip
Which will bring me back to Do....
*bowing*
Clarissa & Co.
Apparently the song is a hit with the other cats on the Meowmail message board. Purrsonally, I (Clarissa) don't care for the catnip. Meowmie would put some out for me on a newspaper and I would try to bury it. I still do that. Now Sable and Bandit are the big nipheads at my house. Those two will roll in it, sniff at it, and eat it up. If they keep it up, I may have to do some feline intervention.
Meowmie says I'm a prohibitionist and that catnip should be banned. I don't believe that at all. I just think cats should behave responsibly. They shouldn't get nipped and drive, or try to climb the cat trees for that matter! I've also told our meowmie more than once that she should attend Al-A-Nip meetings. After all, she in an enabler! She's the one who feeds the nip habit in our house!
