Toesday Tuesday: Sable

Today's Toesday post features me, Sable! As you can see in the photo below, I'm having a nap in mom's recliner. If you look closely at my back foot, you will see a little pink spot.

In the close-up picture below you can see that I have a pink toe pad.

The funny thing is, up until a couple of years ago all of my pads were black. Some of them started getting lighter and were more of a mauve color. Then, before I knew it, I had a PINK TOE!!! What's that about?

Have any of you furs had pads that have gone from black to pink?

Mancat Monday: Joey

We would like to introduce you to our friend, Joey. Joey lives in Delaware with a friend of our mom's. He has a sister named Josey. They are known collectively as "The Jos". Joey's nicknames are "Jo-Bean" or "The Bean". We can't remember how old Joey is, but we are pretty sure he is under 5 years old. We think Joey is a very handsome mancat.

A Human Interest Story about a Woman who Helps Cats

UofL librarian works in off time to help cats, community

The link about will take you to a great story about Karen Little. Ms. Little started a T-N-R non-profit group in Louisville called Alley Cat Advocates.

We hope you enjoy reading about her and the great work she and her volunteers have done over the years to help the stray and feral cats in Louisville.

Mancat Monday: Memphis

Memphis Meezer here. I get to take charge of this week's Mancat Monday, just like I took charge of mom's bed last night. You see, I rarely sleep with mom at night. I will nap on her bed with my furblings. But when it is time for mom to go to bed I will usually leave. I'll go sleep with my uncle in his room. I return to mom's room in the morning because I know she will be getting up and she is our morning food source!

Well, last night I was curled up and snug right in front of her main pillow. I refused to budge! Mom got in bed and tucked me in next to her. She never expected me to stay! I surprised her and slept with her all night long. She woke up several times during the night and found me still sleeping right beside her. I was still there when she woke up at 6:30 this morning.

Now she is wondering what my uncle did to cause me to stay with her last night! He didn't do anything! I'm just changing the routine for now!

Rissa Update

Mom again....Rissa is doing quite well. Dr. Green flushed the abscess out and gave Rissa an antibiotic injection and an anti-inflammatory injection. She came home late Friday afternoon. She is much too clever to wear the "cone of shame" and managed to get it off. It also stressed her out so much that it was decided that she was better without it.

She was taken back to see Dr. Green on Monday morning. Dr. Green was pleased with the way the wound was looking. She did flush it again, and said she would like to see Rissa on Saturday morning for another follow-up. If all is well, she will remove the remaining two stitches (since Rissa removed the others herself!).

All of the kitties say "hello" and I will be returning the blog back to them.
